Comprehensive Description

Yellow-daubed Gymnodoris is nudibranch which is belonging to genus Gymnodoris. This species were found in lagoon are in Heron Island when tide is becoming high. They were crawling on the sand surface when sighted and moved quite active.

Gymnodoris nudibranchs are distributed worldwide and many species are found in Indo-Pacific Ocean (Coleman 2000). However, yellow-daubed Gymnodoris are only found in Heron Island and Lizard Island in Great Barrier Reef, Queensland (Willan & Coleman 1984; Marshall & Willan 1999). Therefore, they are apparently known to be endemic species in Queensland (Marshall & Willan 1999).

Even though they are common on these areas, they have not described yet so their biology is currently not well known (Marshall & Willan 1999).
