Distribution

Temora turbinata has a widespread distribution in tropical to temperate waters of the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. It occurs in the surface to near-surface planktonic communities down to 200m depth, often with high abundaces in coastal waters and around estuaries (Ara 2002). The range covered by turbinata is vast including brazil ( Ara 2002), India (Ali-Khan 2006), Taiwan (Hwang 2004), New Zealand (Bradford 1999) and Australia including areas of the Great Barrier Reef. In the Western Pacific, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean it is usually the dominant member of the mesozooplankton communities (Ara 2002).
