Content Summary | | External MorphologyTemora turbinata have the same basic body plan of all Copepoda. A six-segmented thorax and 5-segmented abdomen forming the cephalasome with Telson and "feet" forming the urosome. The head is fused with the first 1-2 thoracic segments (somites).
Males possess a geniculate right antennule for holding the female during mating. Females carry large amounts of eggs inside cephalasome which is visible by dark colouration. Later in mating cycle, eggs are laid down to the urosome in egg sacs which are then fertilised before release.
